Update

Hey all. So, Ive been quite busy during the days doing absolutely nothing! Evenings are when all of the recordings happen, and Ive been making enough off the gigs and the recording to not have to find work, but I may go look for something to do somewhere, maybe I will volunteer...
Somedays, I feel confident to go outside and explore, and other days I just hide indoors, and vacuum. I think Ive vacuumed this rug 100 times! Im going a bit crazy, not knowing anyone, and being here everyday. I sewed up all the clothes that had holes, and reorganized my closet, and gave a bunch of stuff away to salvation army. Then I went to union square, the other day, to the farmers market. That was really great, I got fresh vegetables, and food. Oh yeah, Ive been doing yoga almost everyday, they told me to stop because I could hurt myself if I push it too hard. I do feel a bit sore from it.. but my voice is strong, Ive been singing everyday. I have another show the end of the month. Its intense, Ive never lived like this, not having to worry about paying rent etc.. OH! and spiro and I had a photo shoot! We shot with the woman, sequoia, one of his friends from nyc. If I havent posted her site already , here it is:

The shoot was fun, the space was kind of cold, and I was a bit sneezy duri9ng the whole thing. A girl spent hours gluing tiny little peices of metal to my face! It was difficult not to laugh through it, spiro and I made it fun by not taking ourselves so seriously. They really dressed us up, the woman wanted my hair to stand straight up! anyway, heres a pic..
in this picture, may hair is covered, but it was standing straight up , I swear,. I was laughing so hard, this pic was taken later when we were getting tired... I thought I looked like sea creature! not sure if you can even see those little metal peices on my face either , but anyway...This is the first shoot for the pics that will go in the album cover, we need to take more with the drummer....
I opened a bank account yesterday, that was something for me to do. But so far, my days are spent singing with headphones on and vacuuming that damn rug in the studio for the hundreth time... miss you all, talk to you soon.

Photo shoot

So, tonight spiro and I had a photoshoot. The images are reallllly out there, I will post some of the pictures when we get them. Kayla did my make up, really well. She spent about two hours gluing tiny pieces of metal to my face and around my eyes. The shoot was being shot by Sequoia, you can find some of her stuff here:

so you can imagine what the shoot came out like, pretty unbelievable stuff. My hair was done up very high with tons of hairspray, not exactly my thing, but it worked once they started taking the pictures. Spiro and I are going to look through the pics tomorrow and figure out which ones are the best. Ill be sure to post them.
Ive been sticking to a strict yoga schedule since Ive been down here, and I dont have many friends, so its easy to spend a lot of my time going to class. It seems like we have a lot of songs and not many are done yet.. and we have two shows at the end of the month.
Nye was incredible, the party was really beautiful and I met a lot of new faces. I was getting tired around 2am though, which is a habit I have to break. its only late nights for me from here on out. ok. Ill write more about it all when I post the pics...very tired...need to rest. miss you all!

The pic on the right is a show we had at the Paradise, on commonwealth, Boston. ahhh memories..

so this is a pic of some of the guys Ill be working with. The one in the middle in the hat is spiro. He is my new love!! He is really wonderful, and is backing me while Im in nyc,. .. and he can dance like no one Ive ever seen!

Getting close.

Ok. Its getting close, and I am making last minute moves to get everything together. I have two sets on New Years in Nyc, the first is at Chapel of Sacred mirrors, Alex grey's gallery and space. He has recently worked with Tool, a pretty big band in the US, right now. Here is the space Ill be playing my first set for the night (around 11pm) : cosm.org

that party is going to be huge, and my set is at sunrise. havent stayed up all night in a long time, so I better get used to it now...
The label already gave me an advance for the night, so all looks well...
Ive changed my diet already, a bit, to keep my voice strong and give me more endurance. I drink yerba mate' instead of the black tea (ive been so addicted to chai and I have to give it up!!)..no coffee!!! ever!! and I have gone onto a mostly vegetarian/vegan diet. Sushi is great for the voice, because I can eat and sing soon after eating. One of the biggest issues for a vocalist is timing sleep and eating... if I eat too close to the set, its bad news!! but if I eat too early, I wont have the strength to push out the volume I need to have..Its a fine line!

Its taken me years to perfect my habits to accomodate my voice. I know my body now, so its easy.

So, as you all may have heard by now, I am moving to Nyc, January 1st.. to pursue my music career. I was offerred a really amazing deal from an independent label in Nyc..

Ive already begun recording, and have been traveling to Nyc every weekend through November...
We have one track done, but I have many others to write lyrics to, and learn. We have our first show Januray 1st, at a party at an underground artist warehouse called "Grand Space". We will be performing on the roof in a heated tent. The set is a sunrise set, which means exactly that. Should be an interesting night!
